"Hershey's Friends" can provide daily exercise and excitement for your dog and in home holiday care for dogs, cats and other small animals. "Hershey's Friends" is owned and run by Nicky State, a Springthorpe resident.

An ex Royal Air Force officer, Nicky was inspired to start her business when walking the family dog 'Hershey' and hearing many barking dogs in back gardens. She now has a growing base of happy customers and even happier pets!

As well as Hershey, Nicky shares her home with her husband, two children, three cats, four chickens and a fish. She has owned pets since being a small child.

Please, before enquiring check the following as a refusal to provide service may offend:

1. Hershey's Friends SERVICE AREA, which is small and boutique and centred in Springthorpe Estate Macleod 3085. This area is irrelevant if you wish to use HERSHEY'S HOME STAY.

2. I do not provide service to dogs or cats who are:

a. 'Intact' ie all animals under the care of Hershey's Friends MUST BE DESEXED. I will walk/visit 'intact' puppies under 12 months of age but they would not be eligible for Hershey's Home Stay.

b. For Hershey's Home Stay, dogs must be over 12 months of age.

c. Pets MUST be registered with your local council, I will need to see proof of this.

d. Pets MUST be micro-chipped.

e. Pets MUST have proof of up to date annual vaccinations.

f. Pets MUST be registered with Hershey's Friends and visited by Nicky prior to any service being carried out. I have many calls from people who rattle off an address, and say 'Key's under the mat see you a week Friday'! This is not how we work, we are a professional and dedicated business. Availability must be checked and all pets must be fully registered with the above information, and met by Nicky before any service will be considered. This is for legal reasons and for the safety of both your beloved pets and Hershey's Friends staff.

3. Hershey's Home Stay unavailable dates if this is the service you have an interest in. Check out our designated HHS page, this is a VERY popular service and gets booked out way in advance.

4. Hershey's Friends holiday dates - no service of any kind operates during HF holiday periods.  Additionally, there is no regular walking on public holidays, but pet sitting is not affected.

5. Finally, there are no positions for dog walkers or other within Hershey's Friends.
